Vietnam wood product export statistics first 6 month 2024
Analysis from data from the International Information Center ITC shows that by 2023, the total demand for Wooden furniture use reaches 560 billion USD, down 70% compared to the previous year 2022. Data from ITC also shows in the first 6 months of 2024, the world’s total demand for wood and wood products will increase slightly, about 2%. According to this trend, Vietnam’s export value of wood and wood products in first months of 2024 will reach 7.36 billion USD, increased by 25.6% over the same period in 2023, although the wood industry continues to face many difficult problems and challenges.
Vietnam Plywood export statistics in the first 6 month 2024
The export value of plywood products in the first 6 months of 2024 reached 487.29 million USD, equivalent to 1.6 million m3 and accounting for 6.6% of the total export turnover of the wood industry, an increase of 24.3% in value and 34.1% in volume compared to the same period in 2023.
Vietnam’s plywood are exported to 77 countries and territories around the world in the first 6 months of 2024. However, Korea, Japan, USA and Malaysia are the four markets Vietnam’s main plywood export accounts for 72.5% in volume and 73.8% in value. The value of plywood exports to the above main markets in the first 6 months of 2024 is as follows:
- Korean market: Vietnam exported 434.56 thousand m3, reaching 105.97 million USD, an increase of 11.9% in volume and 7.1% in value compared to the same period in 2023, accounting for 27.1% in volume and 21.7% in value.
- US market: Vietnam exported 309.84 thousand m3 to the US, reaching 147.4 million USD, an increase of 29% in volume and 19.4% in value compared to the same period in 2023, accounting for 19.3% in volume and 30.2% in value.
- Malaysia market: Vietnam plywood export volume reached 266.7 thousand m3, value reached 66.73 million USD, an increase of 20.1% in volume and 14% in value, accounting for 16.7% in volume and 13.7% in value.
- Japan market: Vietnam exported 150.2 thousand m3, reaching 39.5 million USD, an increase of 16.4% in volume and 8.8% in value, accounting for 9.4% in volume and 8.1% in value.
